Tuesday Sep 25, 2007
This is one of Walt Whitman's foundational poems put to the music of Suzanne Teng from her album Enchanted Wind, track 2, Above the Clouds. While floating with long beatless flute melodies paired with words of curious adoration, this mix offers a meditation where abstractions become solidified and the earth takes its rightful place in our imaginations. Whitman's sense of spirituality grounded to the earth's character, and we being expressions of its deepest dynamics, teases at our role in Life's great mystery. After listening to the 1:59 demo, you'll want to reflect over and over on Whitman's coy allusion to very tangible ideals. Download the full 19:27 version for $3.95 through the safety of Paypal

This is a composite of two short Walt Whitman poems, O Me O Life and Full of Life Now, put to the music of Mercy Machine from the instrumental version of In Your Bed, track 9. The combination of the poems and the music offers a reflection of life, specifically how your life intertwines with Walt Whitman's life; it begins with acknowledging that our own life has limits but builds to recognize that what we do with our life will echo back and forth through time.
